Here are my simple sustainable swaps to get you from your morning coffee to lunch! I've added lots of codes to the bottom too to save you some cash! And this is my Amazon "Zero Waste" List. If watching is more your jam...

Wake Up with Frownies

It's no secret, I start my day in Frownies. These are compostable, biodegradable, and recyclable wrinkle patches that keep you looking fresh to death by smoothing wrinkles and releasing tension while you sleep. Use code SIMPLE for 10% off. I leave these on until I have to leave the house and sometimes I still wear them lol.

Coffee at home

I've said it before (episode 2 for lots more on this) but the best way to have coffee is at home. for 1,000 reasons but I digress. (listen to this episode- its good!)

Personally, I love to sip my hot cup a joe on my porch with my pups and take some quiet time before I start my day. If you gotta get your joe on the go, just bring a tumbler and get on your way :) Trust me you'll look way cuter than you would with a paper and microplastic Starbucks cup. Heck, buy one of theirs even! (not a plastic one though- ooft!)

  • Brew at Home: Use a reusable mug and avoid disposable cups lined with plastic. No, they can't be recycled and yes you're drinking the plastic too.

  • Opt for organic, fair-trade coffee in bulk and refill your containers at refillery or bulk stores. (Litefoot (shop online- they ship!) Whole Foods, Sprouts, or try this. )

  • Switch to a Reusable Coffee Filter* - these suckers are amazing! You never have to buy a filter again! Plus they make for a better-tasting coffee. (hint: Another great gift idea, with coffee, a mug, a little towel -done!)

Eat your breakfast on a real plate with a real napkin and a use a real fork

  • Use real plates and cloth napkins and cutlery. Trust me when I tell you when you eat a simple piece of toast, or even have a quick bowl of cereal with pretty china, (mine is from a yard sale!) and your favorite spoon (is this just me?) and a cloth napkin, it hits different!

  • To wash dishes, use castile or liquid dish soap which you can refill or block dish soap, both of which are eco-friendly and found at LiteFoot or online. Or dishwasher- do you boo!

Brush your teeth without plastic with bamboo toothbrush and toothpaste tabs. Did you know every plastic toothbrush ever made is STILL here and always will be? FOREVER?

  • Switch to a *bamboo toothbrush.

  • Swap your plastic toothpaste tube for tabs I'm obssessed with *Huppy toothpaste tabs. I've tried so many brands and these are by far the best! Use code PLASTICFREE (hurry ends midnight July 31!) for 20% off. I refill a glass jar at my favorite refillery (Litefoot + they ship!) but you can also order a subscription on the site.

Shower without plastic- use bars instead of plastic jugs. (Obviously do this in any order you want. I like to work some in the morning and sometimes workout so my shower comes later for me) Plus you really up the ante on the aesthetic of your shower if I do say so myself.

  • Opt for cloth, cotton, and nontoxic shower curtain. I don't know why they make shower curtains other ways but apparently, they are hard to find. If you have ever smelled a shower curtain liner - you know what I mean. I'm still looking for one to recommend here but I felt remiss not to mention it so let me know if you have one to recommend!

  • *Bar Shampoo + Conditioner: Dip is an awesome brand OR refill with liquid

  • Natural Loofah and Safety Razor:** These provide a plastic-free way to maintain your hygiene. I could talk about the safety razor forever- oh wait I already did (Episode 18: A Simple Shave)

  • Use Bar Soap, I love supporting local handcrafted soap makers, this makes a fantastic gift too, or you can use castile soap and refill if you prefer a liquid soap for basically everything (shampoo too!) and it lasts forever

  • Use 100% Cotton Towels: to avoid microplastics rubbing into your most sensitive skins and your water every time you wash them. You're welcome.

My Skincare Routine has no single-use trash or plastic

  • I am obsessed with three skin care lines I'll start with *Bambu Earth, the travel size of my routine is on my Amazon list but this stuff comes in glass, all natural ingredients, no preservatives and it smells amazing, you feel like you are literally at a spa. (Queue Alexa: play spa music)

  • Next is Frownies but you guys know this already. Notox is way more sustainable in every way than botox.

  • And finally ClearStem supplements for hormonal acne. I have tried everything under the sun, and let me tell you fighting zits takes a lot more plastic than naturally preventing them. The supplements do come in a plastic bottle but I am going to find a neat way to repurpose them. (help me?) ClearStem has changed my life and allowed me to stop buying product after product. Code: BrookeChase for 10 % off.

  • reusable cotton rounds** just throw them in the wash, let them dry and re-use! mine even come in a cute little bamboo holder!

  • Last Swab:** A reusable alternative to cotton swabs. I'll admit, this swap took a little getting used to but now I actually really like it!

Plastic-Free Deodorant

  • I have to 2 suggestions for you here: if you like a stick (no hands) and/or like to throw some deodorant in your gym bag, purse, travel etc is Wild Natural Deodorant is great! ** I have the travel pack I bought on my Amazon list.

  • or Little Seed's deodorant cream. I love love love this deodorant I will never go back to regular ever ever ever. The way it smells, feels, and my pits are soft and happy! This one is like a cream and you can buy an applicator but I honestly like using my hands so I don't waste any, and because I love how it smells and feels so much. Disclaimer though there is no anti-perspirant but I'm super weird and I don't ever sweat. You CAN however give them a try for free right here, tell the goats Brooke sentcha :)
